TVXQ completed their first Japanese tour as a 2 member group and with wild success!
Their 9 city tour (including Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Yokohama, and more) which included 26 performances had a total of 550 million fans and generated around 90 million U.S. dollars.
SM Entertainment revealed,
“There were a total of 550,000 fans present in all of the 26 performances, which is the largest number of people in attendance at a tour held by both Korean artists as well as other overseas artists. The sales total for all of the ticket sales, merchandise, and more is estimated to be around 90 million USD.”
TVXQ performed 20 songs at each event, to which they kicked off their concerts with ‘Rising Sun’, ‘B.U.T’, and ‘Superstar’.
There were thousands of fans waiting outside the Kyocera Dorm, the venue of their final concert, eagerly waiting for the concert to get started. It was notable that there were not only just young fans in attendance, but more older female fans in their late 50′s and 60′s, which goes to show that TVXQ is loved by a variety of different demographics
The entire audience stood on their feets for the entire 3-hour concert. Every time an intro to a ballad song would begin playing, fans would shout, “I love you!” hoping that TVXQ would hear them. During TVXQ’s performance of ‘Somebody to Love‘, the entire audience sang along to the lyrics.
TVXQ has not seemed to slow down despite splitting into two different groups. In fact, they’re creating historywith the huge amount of success they have been getting. Fans in Korea won’t have to too much longer either because TVXQ is set to make their Korean comeback in the latter half of this year. Although it’s great that TVXQ is still wildly successful, many fans would love to see them together as a group of 5 once again.
